      Clarifications

      • Oracle Fusion Middleware 11g Release 1 (11.1.1.9) Documentation Library books have significant documentation improvements based on My Oracle Support experiences and customer feedback. Please see links below to navigate to the new books. Older documentation will still exist, be careful upon finding if searching the Internet.
      • For information on the Error Correction Policy dates for each release, see <Note 1290894.1>. The release of this version will set a grace period of one year for previous releases, with exceptions noted.
      • Oracle Portal, Forms, Reports, and Discoverer were not included in this release since Premier Support expired June 2014. More information in <Note 1290894.1>.
The last release for these was 11.1.1.7 (<Note 1535341.1>). It is not supported to update portions of these PFRD environments to 11.1.1.9 (e.g. OHS or Web Cache).
      • Oracle Fusion Middleware 11g Release 1 (11.1.1.9) is available only for the distributions provided in the Download Readme (see new installation or update an existing installation). Some previously released 11g Release 1 product suites were not released with an 11.1.1.9 update. See <Note 1290894.1> for support dates resulting from this. It is not supported to apply an 11.1.1.9 update to these environments where only some installed products receive an update, as this results in a mixed unsupportable environment that is known to cause problems. Examples include but not limited to applying a Web-Tier 11.1.1.9 to a PFRD 11.1.1.7, Forms & Reports 11.1.2.2, Cloud Control 12c (12.1), or Hyperion/EPM 11.1.2.4 in order to update an installed Oracle HTTP Server component. This is not supported and results in other incompatibility issues between other installed components. If a product suite distribution installs another product as a component, it is only supported to use the same product suite as a patch set release to update all installed components. (The only exception is if it is explicitly documented by the product Distribution team confirming testing and other considerations of support, see Interoperability Between Oracle Fusion Middleware 11g Components).
      • 11.1.1.9 will not be released for Microsoft Windows 32-bit. For this and other uses cases where 11.1.1.9 is not available or certified, (but not deprecated), there has been an extension of support for 11.1.1.7 as per <Note 1585582.1> , 'Extended Fusion Middleware Support Dates for 11g R1 (11.1.1.x) and Patch Set 6 (11.1.1.7)'.
      • If looking for the new SSL features (or direction when 11.1.1.9 is not available for your environment), see <Note 2041410.1> , 'Support Status of New SSL Features Released with Oracle HTTP Server and Oracle Web Cache 11.1.1.9'
      • Some products such as Oracle SOA Suite, Oracle Service Bus, Oracle Enterprise Data Quality, and Oracle Application Integration Architecture Foundation Pack will not be available for download on Oracle Technology Network (under the developer license) as these also have 12c (12.1.3) releases. You may still obtain the 11.1.1.9 Patch Set Release (which is also a full installer) on edelivery (OSDC) and My Oracle Support. Otherwise see <Note 1567707.1> Oracle Fusion Middleware 12c Release Announcements .
      • When going from 11.1.1.x to 11.1.1.9, it is called an 'update', not an 'upgrade' because it is a Patch Set which updates the binaries only as an in-place update. An 'upgrade' refers to a 10g version and involves an Upgrade Assistant to help with the configuration between two installations. This is explained in the Patching Guide here:
        Oracle Fusion Middleware Patching Guide
        https://docs.oracle.com/middleware/11119/core/PATCH/toc.htm
'1.1 Installation, Patching, and Upgrade Terminology'
        and
        '1.2 Patching and Upgrade Tools'
Follow the Download Readme and you will also be guided to 'Understanding Your Installation Starting Point' of the Planning Guide.
Note: This document will have more updates following release with more tips and other information.

      Bug Fixes

Oracle Fusion Middleware 11g Release 1 (11.1.1.9) does not include a Bugs Fixed List as a My Oracle Support document. For past lists, refer to:

<Note 1568995.1> Fixed Bugs List - (11.1.1.8.0) for Oracle Fusion Middleware 11g - Oracle WebCenter

<Note 1376604.1> Fixed Bugs List - Oracle WebLogic Server 10.3.6

For 11.1.1.9, refer to the Release Notes for the FMW product you are using to obtain 'Resolved Issues' list for popular and notable fixes.
Only applicable to some products - If you have applied a Bundle Patch (BP) on a previous release, the expectation is they are cumulatively provided in the next Patch Set release. (e.g. 11.1.1.9). The only exceptions should be the final BP preceding 11.1.1.9 where deadlines overlapped. For issues still applicable there should be plans to include a new BP (11.1.1.9.x).
